"Runner" Receives 1st Place at March Madness Exhibit

HENDERSON, Ky (March 8, 2019) - Artist, Maddy Fritz, received 1st Place for her work, “Runner,” at the March Madness Artist Reception at John James Audubon State Park Museum Thursday night.

The exhibit was juried by the University of Southern Indiana’s Dean of Arts Chair, Katie Waters. The exhibit was described by Waters as showing , “Passion for both the natural world and the world of the imagination.” Over 70 works were submitted by tristate artists; 14 artist were recognized by the following awards:

Best of Show: Ginger Adams, “Hoo Ha & the Telephone Book”
1st Place: Mady Fritz, “Runner”
2nd Place: Cynthia Watson, “Hydrangea”
3rd Place: Terry Rone, “Finish Line”
4th Place: Robert Wetzel, “My Guitar”
Honorable Mentions: Katie Lowing, Iris Gentry, Rita Wannemuehler, Lynn Buckman, Tresa Heath, Marka Kroeger, Leslie Chapman, Barbara Borries, and Time Lutz.
